Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in theTelecoms,Consumer Services andUtilities sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Brussels, theBEL 20 gained 0.12%.

The best performers of the session on theBEL 20 were bpost NV (BRBPOST), which rose 1.69% or 0.41 points to trade at 24.66 at the close. Meanwhile, Proximus NV (BRPROX) added 1.13% or 0.33 points to end at 29.09 and Telenet Group (BRTNET) was up 0.96% or 0.53 points to 55.70 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Solvay SA (BRSOLB), which fell 1.36% or 1.75 points to trade at 126.90 at the close. UCB (BRUCB) declined 0.60% or 0.36 points to end at 59.97 and Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BRCOFB) was down 0.46% or 0.50 points to 108.00.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 66 to 49 and 13 ended unchanged.

Shares in bpost NV (BRBPOST) rose to 52-week highs; up 1.69% or 0.41 to 24.66.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.13% or 1.74 to $1312.54 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.81% or 0.41 to hit $49.94 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.85% or 0.47 to trade at $55.01 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.22% to 1.1981, while EUR/GBP rose 0.16% to 0.8871.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 91.66.
